philstroudYouth, the vibrant force of any organization, church family, and nation. Youth are important to the United Pentecostal Church of DeKalb.  They are integregated in just about every program.  Led by Administrator, Philip Stroud, they take part in many weekly activities: Youth prayer, Comfort Care services, Worship services.  Through out the year, special activities, fund raising, and events are planned: Youth convention, seasonal parties, SFC relay, special outings and trips like National Youth Convention, Camps, Banquets, and youth services and revivals.

It makes for a busy calendar, and a team approach is needed for the various events. Brother Phil Stroud graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2008.  Joining Bro. Phil, is his lovely bride Paula.  Married in 2010, the two make their home in Malta, Il.   He also works an Associate Director of Network Office Supervision, for Northwestern Mutual. Paula teaches college classes for Kishwaukee College, and Elgin Community College. They are expected their first child in Spring of 2012.

They are joined by a number of other young people, who do a quality job as well as the Youth Committee.  Rev. Maurice McDavid keeps events flowing smooth and serves as the Assistant Administrator. He is aided by his wife, Samantha who co-ordinates office and administrative functions. There is a secretary that keeps track of records and keeps the bills paid, Dallas Korn.  Joining his wife, Matt Korn takes an active roll in helping to lead and co-ordinate events, transportation and supervision. Kendra Shered is the Social Chairman; she works keeping parties, dinners, and special events fun and exciting.  Youth in UPC of DeKalb, is a lot of work, and appreciates the support and co-operation of many of the church families. Throughout the year, our college and career team Paula Lindsay, Melissa Korn,  Samantha and Maurice McDavid regularly round out the team helping in co-ordinating events, and helping in anyway to make the youth jobs easier.
